Hi Susan,

Neck MRI does show significant arthritis, worse at C 4/5, left > right.
I recommend physical therapy. If symptoms are not improving, I would be happy to refer you to our spine clinic. Typically spine clinic will not see your or do any intervention until after 6 weeks of PT. You can schedule physical therapy by calling 608 356–1460.

MRI CERVICAL SPINE WO CONTRAST
Results

IMPRESSION:
Multilevel degenerative disease with areas of narrowing as above. There is mild to moderate canal stenosis at C3-C4 and C4-C5. There is severe left foraminal narrowing at C3-C4 and severe bilateral foraminal narrowing at C4-C5.

COMPARISON:
Cervical radiographs 06/12/2026.

TECHNIQUE: Cervical spine MRI performed without contrast.

FINDINGS:

Cervical:
Bones: Straightening of the normal cervical lordosis without spondylolisthesis. Trace anterolisthesis of T1 on T2 and T2 on T3. Vertebral bodies are normal in
height without evidence of compression fractures. Mild degenerative endplate bone marrow signal changes particularly from C3-C5. No focal suspicious bone
marrow signal abnormality.

Craniocervical junction: The craniocervical junction appears normal.

Cord/canal: The spinal cord appears normal.

Soft tissues/other: No soft tissue abnormality is identified. Normal flow voids are identified in the vertebral arteries.

Degenerative change: Multilevel degenerative disease with areas of narrowing
follow:

C2-3: Left great left greater than right uncovertebral hypertrophy and facet arthropathy. Moderate left and mild right foraminal stenosis. No canal stenosis.

C3-4: Large disc osteophyte complex. Superimposed left foraminal disc protrusion. Suspect a small focal right paracentral/proximal foraminal disc protrusion as well, measuring up to 3 mm. Moderate bilateral facet arthropathy. Overall, there is mild to moderate canal stenosis. Severe left foraminal narrowing. Moderate-to-severe right foraminal stenosis.

C4-5: Large discosteophyte complex and moderate bilateral facet arthropathy. Mild-to-moderate canal stenosis. Severe bilateral foraminal narrowing, right greater than left.

C5-6: Disc osteophyte complex, mild-to-moderate bilateral facet arthropathy, uncovertebral hypertrophy. Mild canal stenosis. Moderate bilateral foraminal narrowing.

C6-7: Central disc protrusion, uncovertebral hypertrophy, moderate bilateral facet arthropathy. Minimal canal stenosis. Moderate right and mild left foraminal narrowing.

C7-T1: Diffuse disc bulge, bilateral facet arthropathy. Mild right foraminal narrowing. No canal or left foraminal narrowing.
